So, we're back from Vegas. It was fun! We drove for about 8 hours. I drove the first leg of the trip and Jason drove the last leg. I had no problem driving. It's actually lots of fun to go on a rode trip with Jason because he doesn't fuss and we have great conversation.

Our first day there was an easy day. We just ran around and saw the sights. I've been to Vegas a few times before, but for some reason it felt like I was seeing the city with new eyes. It was an interesting feeling. I got to meet these ladies while I was out and about, I thought their costumes were awesome. I just loved their wings.

The second night we went to a convention and tried to check out all the cool things. I took pictures with this Filipina model/actress...I've never seen her movies before but I think Jason has! LOL

Jason and I walked around mostly, eagerly determined to get a bunch of free swag. There was a guitar giveaway at the convention that Jason wanted to put his name in for. I felt that the chances were slim, so I put my name in too and figured that it would increase our chances of winning. I was highly doubtful by the time the name of the winner was called. They pulled out the winner's name, "Peter...so and so". Blah, how pitiful. I couldn't believe it was over just like that.
So, Jason and I walked off to see what other things we could get for free at the convention. It was like nothing seemed to matter at that point because we were bummed we missed out on the guitar. But before you know it Jason heard more commotion going on at the stage where they announced the winner. Free swag I thought? No, Jason said he saw them pulling out another name. So we ran! I was still a bit skeptical, thinking what's the point, I doubt we'd win. By the time we got to the stage we couldn't hear the name they called! It was dreadful. What if it was Jason! I was just swimming in doubt at this point, thinking our luck sucked.
So, we waited until they pulled another name, still a bit hopeful and myself just half listening. The man on the mic announces that this time they pulled a girl's name... Could it be me I thought? I had to listen intently..."Marlyn Adlawan! If you're here come on stage." I couldn't believe it. I jumped up and down telling them I'm right here, I'm right here. Jason had to pick me up and put me on his shoulders just so they could see me through the crowd. I was so elated!
Afterwards, when I got off the stage my heart was beating so hard. Everyone was congratulating me. Trying to talk to me. Telling me how awesome it was. I couldn't help but think so too. It was just so awesome to win something as big as an electric guitar!
I was so caught up in the commotion that I had to pause for a moment and take it all in. Then I started to yell out, "And today's my BIRTHDAY!" hahaha it was ridiculous! I lost Jason through it all and was hoping he was somewhere amongst the crowd backstage. As soon as I caught sight of his face, I felt fine.
Anyway, afterwards I had to take pictures with the man who gave the guitar away. I was able to surf online to find the pic! Here it is.

And that was the icing on the cake for the weekend. Later that night we partied at Pure nightclub and got to hang out at the Pussycat Doll lounge. I got to see the Vegas Pussycat Dolls. I loved the show so much that I vow to return every time we go to Vegas. Isn't that just like me? Loving all things French-related as a cabaret-style show.
I also forgot to mention that while we were in Vegas, Jason took me around to see some sights. I never really got to see some of the hotels. We went to Palms, I wanted to see the Hart and Huntington store. I was embarassed to walk inside to check it out so I just took a picture from outside. Sometimes I feel like such a groupie. I was being so weird that weekend that I was asking Jason about taking me to Warrick Brown's grave site, so I could pay my respects to a fallen hero. LOL By far, my favorite hotel of all would have to be Paris. I've been inside of it once before, it's so so. But it's exterior is amazing. I could live in a place like this. It's architecture reminded me of the real Paris. I loved it so!

I really hope that we can go to Vegas again soon. My parents are thinking of going some time in May. I believe they're doing a rode trip. Jason and I were discussing going along with them and bringing his parents, just as a treat to take them away. Funny enough we enjoy being with our parents, regardless of the fact of how crazy they can make us sometimes. LOL.
After this trip, I couldn't stop day dreaming about our next trip out of town. I do wish we can go to Europe again. But we'll have to see, since the economy is in a slump and all. If there was anything I learned that weekend, it would be that every once in awhile we need to get away from our daily grind. It doesn't need to be a trip out of the country or anything fabulous like that, it just has to be away. The trip is worth it if you have good company and a good place to come back to.
