I would have to say that London was like a second home for us. After Paris we were beat. We spent the weekend sight seeing and when Monday came around, Jason had to go to work. He spent three days working from his company's London office. It was a long and hard week. I spent most of the days shopping and sight seeing while he was at work.
Right when we got there we caught an outdoor Shakespearian play at Regent's Park. We saw Romeo & Juliet and it was beautiful. I would really recommend watching one of those outdoor plays because it is indeed high quality and the atmosphere is great. On top of that, the food was awesome! The next day we spent it going to the Tower of London:After which we took a Jack the Ripper walking tour through the East End. It was slightly creepy, but mostly eerie because the buildings date back to the 1800's during the time of Jack the Ripper and you can feel yourself taken back into time. I have those pictures on Jason's camera. The next day we went to Hampton Court Palace (King Henry VIII's playground). It was beautiful, not as breathtaking as La Cheatau de Versailles, but still beautiful. The gardens are a must see. We walked through their garden maze and laid under their huge shady trees:

Later that afternoon Jason and I caught afternoon high tea over at Brown's Hotel. I would say that was our favorite thing to do. Even though it is in poor taste to talk about religion and politics over tea, the two of us couldn't help but be overwhelmed with mixed emotions when we heard Obama was going to be on the Democratic ticket. So we did! We were during those two weeks, proud to be American. Many black Parisians and Londoners just kept praising, "brother Obama". That was a definite theme for our week in London.
The following evening after Jason's first day back to work we went to SoHo and watched a musical: Les Miserables. Overall, I would have to say...London has the best musicals! Catching a musical in London is so hip, it's like going out to the bars or clubs here in the U.S. The musical was breathtaking.
For my solo sight seeing I went around and saw Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Parliament. I really wanted to jump on the London Eye, but we didn't have too much time.
I would say overall, I enjoyed shopping in London than I did in Paris (ironic I know!). Sightseeing is a definite must do in Paris. The architecture is phenomenal! I would definitely spend a day at one of the gardens in Paris. In London, seeing the shows is a must do. Watch a play, they're definitely worth every pence!
For our next European trip, we plan on checking out Italy and Greece. It'll be exciting. This time we'll be doing the trip with another couple. They'll be checking out the two countries for the first time as well!
More later!
